Defendant challenged two convictions for failure to register as a sex offender. Under ORS 181.812(1)(d), a person is required to report as a sex offender when they move to a new residence and must report both the move and the new address. The reporting requirement is triggered when the person has both left the former residence and acquired a new residence. In this case, the State failed to prove that Defendant had acquired a new residence after leaving his previous residence. The Court accepted the State's concession of error. Reversed.
